Shannon Purser has joined the cast of The CW's upcoming Archie-inspired TV series, Riverdale.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress—who recently starred as Barb in the popular Netflix Original series Stranger Things—will appear in The CW's reboot for at least three episodes as Ethel Muggs.

While Ethel has a crush on Jughead (Cole Sprouse) in the comics, EW reports that Purser's character will instead be romantically involved with someone else. Ethel will find friends in both Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) after the three join forces to get revenge against a bully named Reggie Mantle.
