Apple Confirms September Event Date

Could this be the reveal of iPhone 7?

Apple will hold a new keynote on Wednesday, September 7 at 10 a.m. PT, the company announced today.

Apple did not provide further details on what would be discussed during the event, which will be live streamed on Apple's website.

Though Apple did not confirm what will be showcased next week, Apple has revealed the last few iPhone iterations, including the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, and 6S Plus, in September over the last few years.

Reports throughout the last year have also suggested the iPhone 7 is in the works, as well as what changes will come along with the supposed new model.

Among the reported changes are that the iPhone 7 will forego a headphone jack and instead use an audio-enabled lightning port and that the rear camera will be flush with the device rather than protruding out.

Apple also has a patent for a dual-camera system to maintain resolution even while zooming in on photos, but it is unclear whether the patent would apply to the next iPhone.

Apple also recently released a new iOS update to fix a major security flaw that could put iPhones at potential hacking risks.

Stay tuned to IGN for more on the Apple keynote.
