One of The Lord of the Ring's most iconic creatures has been given a new Lego design thanks to a custom builder.
As highlighted by The Brothers Brick, Aaron Newman has created his own take on the balrog, perhaps most remembered as depicted in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Newman's build features imposing wings, a whip, and a ridge of fire sprouting on top of and behind the balrog's head. Take a look at the custom set below:
Check out Newman's Flickr account for a more detailed look at the balrog design. Newman is also offering instructions for those interested in building the creature on their own.
The six Lord of the Rings films — The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, and the three The Hobbit films — will all be compiled in one massive limited edition Blu-ray set, which is aiming for release this October. The 30-disc set includes extended editions of all six films, as well as behind-the-scenes documentary specials and more.
While waiting for the collection, check out what it was like when IGN took a trip to Hobbiton.
