How to Watch the Call of Duty XP Key Note

All the latest news on Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, and more.

Activision is set to unveil a host of new information about this year's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and much more at the Call of Duty XP 2016 fan event — and IGN has you covered if you can't attend.

Call of Duty XP runs from September 2 - 4, with a keynote on Friday, September 2 at 10 a.m. PT kicking off the event. The full event will also feature panels about the Call of Duty universe, the Call of Duty World League Championship, the world premiere of Infinite Warfare multiplayer, and more.

The event has sold out for those seeking to attend in person, and Activision provided the following statement to IGN:

"COD XP, the biggest Call of Duty fan event of the year, has sold out. All three tiers of tickets, including Veteran, Prestige and Enlisted, are no longer available. Activision wants to thank fans for their incredible support, and looks forward to celebrating the franchise alongside its players this weekend."

IGN will have those who can't attend covered with a stream, news, and more straight from the experience.

Come back to IGN.com to watch a livestream of the keynote on September 2 at 10 a.m. PT. IGN will continue to update throughout the event as more is revealed about the Call of Duty universe.

What to Expect from Call of Duty XP

COD XP will not only feature Call of Duty's competitive scene but a look at the various corners of the Call of Duty universe. Kicking off with the keynote, we expect the event will cover Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Zombies in Spaceland, and more. The entire event will close with a concert on September 4 featuring Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa.

Infinite Warfare's multiplayer will also be shown off for the first time during the event.

Though Activision announced a Call of Duty cinematic universe at the end of last year, the publisher has remained quiet about plans for bringing the series to theaters, and a Call of Duty-focused event seems like a perfect opportunity to reveal what's in store.

Activision has announced panels occurring throughout the event, as well. For those attending, here's the schedule of planned talks:

  • Building the Zombies Universe — September 2 at 3:30 p.m. PT: A talk with Treyarch's Jason Blundell, director of Zombies, and Treyarch's lead writer Craig Houston about the Black Ops Zombies saga.
  • The Music of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare — September 2 at 5 p.m. PT: Infinity Ward audio director Stephen Miller, composer Sarah Scachner, and senior music manager and producer at Sony Jonathan Mayer explore the upcoming game's soundtrack. iam8bit recently revealed that the score and a 10-song soundtrack for Zombies in Spaceland will both be available for purchase on vinyl.
  • Creating the World of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - Navy meets NASA Design — September 3 at 2 p.m. PT: Infinity Ward concept artists Aaron Beck and Thomas Szakolczay, as well as environment art lead John Dobbie, visual strategist Joby Harris, and spacecraft systems engineer Peter Meakin discuss the aesthetic choices behind Infinite Warfare and the game's real-life inspirations.
  • The Making of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered — September 3 at 3:30 p.m. PT: Raven Software's David Pellas, Infinity Ward's Mike Denny and Oscar Lopez, Beenox's Thomas Wilson, and Certain Affinity's David Mertz offer a look at the multi-studio remaster of the original Modern Warfare.'
  • Sledgehammer Games - The Seven Year Journey — September 3 at 5 p.m. PT: Sledgehammer's Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield offer a look at the developer's history, possibly set to "share some studio and game secrets, reveal undiscovered Easter eggs, and shed some light on mysterious past projects."
What We Already Know

Activision officially announced Infinite Warfare in May of this year, later revealing that Game of Thrones star Kit Harington will star as the game's villain. IGN had a chance to preview the game at E3, where we discovered Infinite Warfare's story is set to be much more like a World War II narrative than a pure science fiction one.

Modern Warfare Remastered was announced alongside Infinite Warfare. PS4 players will have a chance to play the remaster 30 days early ahead of Infinite Warfare's release. For more on the remaster, check out IGN's comparison of the original Modern Warfare and the upcoming updated version.
