In addition to 20th Century Fox's upcoming Deadpool sequel, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have announced that they're also working on a sequel to Zombieland.
"That is breaking news that we're on Zombieland 2 right now," the writing duo behind the original Zombieland said in a recent interview on AMC's Geeking Out (via ComicBook.com). "We're sitting with Woody [Harrelson] tomorrow and are going to sort of walk him through some of the stuff we want to do. All the cast is pretty excited."
A sequel to Reese and Wernick's 2009 hit has been in the works for quite some time. Amazon tried turning Zombieland into a TV series, but it never made it past the pilot. Additionally, reports surfaced back in 2014 that Sony Pictures hired Dave Callaham to write the script for Zombieland 2 with Ruben Fleischer returning to direct.
