Gran Turismo Sport Delayed to 2017

GT Sport gets a grid penalty.

Polyphony Digital has announced Gran Turismo Sport has been delayed to 2017.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Polyphony founder Kazunori Yamauchi said "...as we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport."

The game was originally supposed to launch on November 15 in Japan and North America, November 16 in Australia, and November 18 in the UK. Yamauchi has not confirmed a new release date yet.

GT Sport will be the first entry in the series to make it to the current generation PlayStation hardware. It'll feature 137 cars, 19 tracks with 27 possible layouts, and a new photo mode called Scapes which will output at 4K resolution.

IGN saw the game at E3 this year, and we said it "is at once instantly recognisable as a GT game but it still seems to be wanting in familiar areas."
