In addition to setting a new iTunes record and doubling sales at some business, Pokemon Go has caused a surge in sales of the collectible trading cards.
According to an eBay buying guide (via Heritage Auctions), worldwide sales for Pokemon cards priced over $300 on eBay have nearly doubled since the launch of Pokemon Go.
An average of 3.6 lots were sold each day during the 74 days before Pokemon Go released. Two weeks after its launch, that number climbed to an average of 6.2 lots sold per day. Meanwhile, sell-through rates dropped following the game's release, falling from 42 percent down to 22 percent.
The new Pokemon TCG set Fates Collide released earlier this year and features some impressive new additions. Check out IGN's list of the 10 best Fates Collide cards worth tracking down.
