Destiny's Last Xbox 360 And PS3 Patch Deploys Today

So long, Guardians.

Bungie has confirmed that today's patch 2.3.1.0 – which is paving the way for the next expansion, Destiny: Rise of Iron – will be the last scheduled deployment for legacy consoles - the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The statement on the official blog reads:

"Before the launch of Destiny: Rise of Iron on September 20th, there are a few issues we are fixing. This update will also be the last scheduled deployment for Legacy Consoles, excluding emergency fixes for future game-breaking issues."

Of course we knew this was coming when Destiny: Rise of Iron was announced. Bungie revealed it would only be supporting current-gen consoles, leaving the fate of the last generation's legacy consoles in question.

A short time later Bungie revealed the support plan for legacy consoles, which should officially happen in August, but will restrict players from accessing community events like Festival of the Lost, Crimson Days, or the Sparrow Racing League; as well as the Trials of Osiris, and the Iron Banner.

Are you still playing Destiny on legacy consoles? Is it worth sticking to The Taken King or will this be a reason for you to upgrade to an Xbox One or PS4? Let us know!
