A familiarly-shaped park feature in Japan was the subject of a Mewtwo-related hoax this weekend, leading to huge crowds gathering in search of the classic Legendary.
As reported by Kotaku, Nagoya's Tsuruma Park has a distinct whiff of the Pokeball about its water feature centrepiece, and some enterprising prankster(s) spread the word that Mewtwo - which is currently unavailable to catch - would appear there.
Reportedly over a thousand players quickly showed up, many after midnight, to try their luck at finding the elusive monster. Suffice it to say, no one had much luck.
That said, it seems Tsuruma is a pretty good capture spot in general - tweets from the past couple of days show players nabbing Blastoise, Gyarados and Venusaur, all of which are pretty rare finds themselves.
It's far from the only crazy story about Pokemon Go recently, but it proves that Poke-fever is truly international after the Japanese version's delayed launch.
Remember, anyone who tells you they've got Mewtwo already is a damned liar - the guy who's already 'completed' Pokemon Go says so.
