Batgirl #1 - $2.99
STL010752

Written by Hope Larson & Drawn by Rafael Albuquerque | DC

Barbara Gordon is striking out on her own for DC Rebirth. This new series is taking her outside the familiar confines of Burnside on on a global journey to hone her skills and become a better Batgirl. That sounds like a promising new status quo, but we're really excited about the new creative team. Cartoonist/graphic novel artist Hope Larson is making her DC debut on this book, and she's joined by none other than American Vampire co-creator Rafael Albuquerque. Based on the cover alone, expect this to be one of the most gorgeous books in the DC Rebirth lineup.

Black Panther #4 - $3.99
STL010485

Written by Ta-Nehisi Coates & Drawn by Brian Stelfreeze | Marvel

Black Panther has quickly proven to be one of the best new Marvel books of the year. This issue wraps up Ta-Nehisi Coates and Brian Stelfreeze's first story arc, as T'Challa continues to battle civil unrest in his kingdom. What will the state of Wakanda be going forward? Will T'Challa maintain his grip on power? Does he even want to? These questions will be explored as the first act in this yearlong saga comes to a close.

Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens #1 - $3.99
STL009660

Written by John Layman & Drawn by Chris Mooneyham | Dark Horse

You could argue that no comic book hero is worth his or her salt until they've crossed over with the Alien and Predator franchises. Those pesky creatures may have finally met their match, however. This series pits the two ever-warring species against the biggest, baddest cop of them all, Judge Dredd. And assuming Dredd brought enough ammo, there's little question of who's going t win this battle. Whomever wins, we're just eager to see what this mash-up series has to offer.

Adventure Time Comics #1 - $3.99
STL010142

Written & Drawn by Tony Millionaire, Katie Cook & Art Baltazar | BOOM!

We've seen plenty of Adventure Time-branded comics over the past few years. But what makes this new anthology series special is that it allows a variety of talented creators free reign to explore the the Land of Ooo and its kooky cast inhabitants. This first issue offers new tales from Tony Millionaire (Sock Monkey), Katie Cook (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) and Art Baltazar (Tiny Titans). Anything goes in this universe, and we suspect that freedom will lead to some memorably bizarre stories.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #1 - $2.99
STL010750

Written by Robert Venditti & Drawn by Rafael Sandoval | DC

The Green Lantern franchise is in a much better place now thanks to DC Rebirth. This issue builds from the recent DC Rebirth chapter, as Hal struggles to rebuild his shattered Corps even as the Sinestro Corps tightens its grip on the galaxy. Things are certainly looking bleak for the Green Lanterns right now, but that just leaves more room for Hal and his teammates to shine. Pun intended.

Machine Man by Kirby & Ditko Complete Collection TPB - $39.99
STL010879

Written & Drawn by Various | Marvel

Machine Man might not be one of Jack Kirby's more famous creations, but he's one that every Marvel fanatic should know. There's something very compelling about the idea of a robot with a soul struggling to understand himself and his place in the universe. This massive trade collects the original Machine Man comic and his early Incredible Hulk appearances. About all that's missing is the original 2001: A Space Odyssey comic that introduced Aaron Stack, but we can understand why reprinting that series wasn't an option. Regardless, anyone curious about the origins of Machine Man before he became a sarcastic, beer-guzzling member of Nextwave should check out this book. How often do you find so many comics drawn by Kirby and Steve Ditko in one place?
