Russell will play Pratt's father in the sequel.
During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, Marvel Studios revealed Sylvester Stallone will be joining Guardian's of the Galaxy Vol. 2 after rumors circulating hinted the actor might appear in the film.
Additionally, Kurt Russell's character was confirmed during the panel. Though we've known Russell would be involved in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 for some time, today we learned he'll be playing the role of Ego, Star-Lord's father.
This news, and more, was restated by Marvel Digital Media vice president Ryan Penagos on Twitter, alongside a reference to the return of Baby Groot!
