Ubisoft's super-successful video game Tom Clancy's The Division is getting a film adaptation, and Jake Gyllenhaal is attached to star.
Sources have told Variety that Gyllenhaal will also produce the film. The project does not yet have a writer, as the studio is currently seeking for someone to pen the script.
The Division won't be the first video game-inspired movie Gyllenhaal has starred in, as the actor also played the leading man in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. More recently, the actor appeared in the 2014 film Nightcrawler, as well as last year's Southpaw.
Tom Clancy's The Division released earlier this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Ubisoft's online shooter has proven to be incredibly popular since its launch in March, boasting a total of 9.5 million registered players.
