IGN Is Running 10k For a Fantastic Video Games Charity

We need your help.

If you’ve noticed that IGN's London team have been looking a little sweatier of late, do not be concerned.

We’ve not contracted hyperhidrosis. Nor have we been feeling the effects of last night’s Vindaloo. What we have been doing, however, is running. Lots of it.

But we need your help, because in just over a week ten of us are going to be huffing and puffing through the 10K London run. The motley crew includes managing editor Daniel Krupa, video producers Gav Murphy and Dale Driver, video host Alysia Judge, and news editor Joe Skrebels.

It’s all in the name of SpecialEffect, a fantastic UK based charity that brings fun and inclusion back into the lives of people living with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.

From modified joypads to controllers with eye tracking technology, the folks at SpecialEffect are constantly coming up with new ways to level the virtual playing field between those with physical disabilities and those who haven’t.

We’re aiming to raise £1,800 to help this mission by July 10, and at the time of writing we’re at £1,041.46.

We'd be beyond grateful if you helped us reach our goal by heading over to our JustGiving page and pressing that little red “donate button.” In fact, you'd make us living embodiments of the tears of joy emoji.

In the meantime, you can head over to SpecialEffect's website to check out the incredible work they do. They're really quite marvellous.

Alysia Judge is video host at IGN UK, and she thought that the guys were asking her if she'd like to "go for rum." How wrong she was. Send her hearing test links on Twitter.
