Street Fighter V's Cinematic Story Mode Hits PSN Early

Whiffing the release just a little.

The cinematic story mode for Street Fighter V has launched earlier than expected today on the PlayStation Network, and is currently available for download.

The PlayStation Store page lists the item as A Shadow Falls, the title previously announced for the separate story expansion that base Street Fighter V game. Taking place between Street Fighter IV and III, the expansion will depict the battle between Shadaloo and the World Warriors.

IGN has confirmed that the content is downloadable at this time. However, several users are reporting that the story expansion is unplayable, as IGN has confirmed, likely requiring the accompanying patch that launches this week.

The update, which is scheduled to arrive on Friday, brings both the long-awaited cinematic story mode and two new fighters, in Balrog and Ibuki. Recently, some modders for the PC version of Street Fighter V have gotten so antsy for new characters, they began adding their own in, through mods like this Overwatch Tracer alt-costume for Cammy.
