EA Investigates FIFA's FUT 'Chemistry Inconsistency' Issues

"Thanks for your continuous efforts across all channels."

EA Sports has launched an investigation following reports of a "chemistry inconsistency" in FIFA's Ultimate Team (FUT).

In FIFA Ultimate Team, players should be affected by "Team Chemistry". In theory, the more familiar teammates are with each other - or the more they play together for you - the higher the chemistry, and the better the performance.

However, as this Reddit thread attests, some fans continue to report issues with the chemistry algorithm, with many high-profile players failing to perform as they should - particularly those added to FUT packs mid-season.

In a statement to Gamesradar, an EA representative said: “Thanks to the FUT community for raising awareness of a potential fitness and chemistry inconsistency in some FUT items. After hearing this, our teams were in over the weekend and continue to thoroughly investigate the information.

"We will keep you informed with updates from the investigation. Our commitment to a fun, fair and secure experience in FIFA is ongoing, and as a community your feedback helps us achieve that goal. A special thanks for your continuous efforts across all channels.”

In our FIFA 16 review, we said: "The complete package is as substantial as ever, and those who’ve acclimatised to FIFA’s play style in recent years will likely consider it good enough. But in the face of much stronger competition, ‘good enough’ might not actually be good enough.

"With its biggest rival matching its dynamism and beating it for fluidity and responsiveness, EA Sports has work to do if FIFA is to regain its title as king of the digital sport."
