Batman: Return to Arkham Indefinitely Delayed

Holy delay, Batman!

Warner Bros. has confirmed Batman: Return to Arkham will not be ready for its slated July 29 release date.

Via a short statement on the official forums (thanks, Gematsu), the publisher acknowledged the game needs "additional time" and delayed the Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City remastered boxset indefinitely.

“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience,” said company representative, Steve Grayson.

“We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready.

"We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”

After a number of leaks beginning in March, the Batman: Return to Arkham remaster collection was finally announced in May. The boxset is set to feature "improved graphics, as well as upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders", and comprises Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, along with all their associated DLC content and Game of the Year edition bonuses.
