Analyzing Gainax's Weird, Fantastic Anime

Get in the robot!

For the second studio spotlight, Mike, Miranda, Kallie, and Meghan discuss the fun anime that's come out from Gainax over the years, including explaining why Neon Genesis Evangelion is so famous. With creators like Hideaki Anno and Hiroyuki Imaishi having left Gainax, the IGN Anime Club member speculate whether or not today's Gainax can be as good as its past. Mike, Kallie, and Meghan also talk about their adventures at Fanime.

This week for the Watch Party, we discuss Shirobako episodes 15 and 16. To participate next week, watch episodes 17 and 18 (available on CrunchyrollHulu, and Blu-ray), then tweet or post a message on Facebook with your thoughts on the episodes and use the hashtag #IGNime or email IGN Anime Club at ign_animeclub@ign.com.
