The Flash Movie Loses Director Rick Famuyiwa

Pic is gearing up for early 2017 shoot.

Director Rick Famuyiwa has reportedly dropped out of helming The Flash, Warner Bros.' solo movie of DC Comics' Scarlet Speedster.

According to Variety, it "is unclear why the Dope director left the film, but this now marks the second helmer to exit the pic following Seth Grahame-Smith’s departure earlier this year. Warner Bros. had no comment on the news."

The Flash had been gearing up for production in early 2017, with Ezra Miller set to reprise his Justice League and Batman v Superman role as Barry Allen alongside Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudup as Barry’s father. Ray Fisher's Cyborg also reportedly has a role in  the film.

Warner Bros. had brought Famuyiwa to July's San Diego Comic-Con along with then-fellow DC movie directors Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck, James Wan, and David Ayer.

This marks the second time in recent weeks that a director has parted ways with a comic book movie following Tim Miller's exit from Deadpool 2 citing "creative differences."
