Warner Bros. has reportedly added a number of acclaimed scribes to its Sherlock Holmes 3 writers' room, including writers from Guardians of the Galaxy and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
As Variety reports, the next installment in the Robert Downey Jr.-led series will be tackled by five writers: Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel), Gary Whitta (Rogue One), Justin Malen (Baywatch), Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider), and Kieran Fitzgerald (Snowden).
James Coyne was brought on to rewrite the script back in April. However, this most recent report makes no mention of Coyne.
Downey Jr. and Jude Law will reprise their roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, respectively. Guy Ritchie, who directed the first two films, is also set to return.
At this time, Warner Bros. has yet to announce a timetable for production or expected release date for Sherlock 3.
In related news, BBC recently announced the fourth season of its Sherlock television series will debut January 1, 2017.
