Big Halloween Events From GTA, Overwatch, and Many More

The video game industry finds many ways to celebrate Halloween during the month of October. Here are the events, patches, updates, and DLC to feature spooky new content in 2016.

GTA Online added all kinds of new fun October 28, including:

• Angels vs. Devils in the new GTA Lost Vs Damned Adversary Mode, with a switching daytime/nighttime cycle granting power bonuses to the good during the light and the wicked in the dark. Teams earn points for kills that take place when they're strongest, so timing and cooperation are essential as the sun rises and sets every sixty seconds!
• Double GTA Cash and RP are available for Lost Vs Damned players now through Nov 7.
• New Vehicle: The spooky LCC Sanctus Motorcycle
• 2 Free new horror themed T-shirts just for logging in, plus a third bonus Tee with purchase of the Sanctus
• Special Halloween-themed playlist with Double GTA Cash and RP
• Returning from previous Halloweens: Lurcher Hearse, Fränken Stange , Masks, Facepaints, Bobbleheads, and Horns available through November 15th.

Beginning October 25, the following bonuses and special events are in place (with more Halloween-themed content coming Friday).

First, players get a one time bonus of $250,000 GTA cash for logging in on PS4, Xbox One, or PC between now and Oct 31. Bonus will be deposited into Maze Bank accounts Nov 4.

Overatch has a batch of character skins available in the Halloween Terror event. You can see them all here!

Additionally, Halloween Terror includes the Junkenstein's Revenge game type, which sets 4 players against defending a gate against hordes of enemies.

Just in time for Halloween, Michael Myers is no available as a killer in Dead by Daylight, and Laurie Strode appears in a Halloween-movie themed themed map!

Team Fortress 2's Halloween Shenanigans are back with Scream Fortress 8, which adds three new Halloween maps to years of accumulated Halloween bonus content. Plus players can find special rewards in new Creepy Crawly Cases and special Halloween effects for unusual cosmetics!

Destiny's 2016 Festival of the Lost features emotes, masks, weapon mods, and a Sparrow skinned to look like a witch's broom.

From Oct. 26 to Nov. 1, you'll earn double Candy from catching, hatching, and transferring Pokemon. Likewise, Buddy Pokemon will help you snag four times the Candy.

Also, instances of spooky-type Pokemon will be increased.

Paragon is offering players an assortment of skins for sale as part of their Shadows Eve event, with new skins available now through November 6.

From October 28-30 a global community event called Zombiefest invites all Survivors and Night Hunters to compete for the most kills. Participants get a Gold-tier Weapon (accessible in campaign mode) and access to new rankings.

EA is commemorating Halloween by boosting certain player stats over the holiday weekend, including:

• Madden 17: Madden Ultimate Team packs will boost some players into super performers between Oct 27 – Nov 4. Also, all players logging in to Ultimate Team from Oct 27-30 get a free Most Feared Master Brian Urlacher.

• FIFA 17: 23 of the world’s best players including Andrea Pirlo, Thomas Müller, and Dimitri Payetwill boosts in FIFA Ultimate Team. You can pick them up through October 28 and take advantage of the boost from Oct 28 - Oct 31.
• NHL 17: A virtual “trick-or-treat” allows players to collect five candy collectibles, and unlock high value players in NHL Ultimate Team through Nov 4

WoW's annual Halloween content package returns with spooky pet costume sets, special Halloween-themed quests, Tricky Treat gathering, player disguises, items, and much more!

The Oct 25 CS Go update patch notes include teh words "Happy Halloween." No other official details are yet available but players have spotted pumpkin-headed chickens running around. 

Now through November 1, ESO is celebrating Halloween with a special Witches Festival, adding new quests, powers, and a new in-game item. As reported on ESO's website:

To join in the frightening festivities, visit the Crown Store to get your free Crow Caller, then blow into this baneful birdcall to have “The Witchmother's Bargain" quest bestowed upon you. Complete the quest to receive the Witchmother's Whistle and use it to summon The Witchmother's Cauldron. This bubbling bowl of toil and trouble will polymorph you, and anyone in your group, into the terrifying visage of an Undead creature. The polymorph will last for two hours, but you'll be able to use it as many times as you like until the first day of Sun's Dusk (November 1st).

While the Undead polymorph is active, killing boss monsters will give you the chance to loot Plunder Skulls. Opening a Plunder Skull will reveal special Witches Festival goodies, including masks (equipped in your hat slot), special holiday Provisioning recipes, the Hollowjack crafting motif, and more! Guild Wars 2 continues it's Halloween tradition with the return of Shado of the Mad Kng, which includes special events, achievements, weapon skins, decorations, and items. 

All Saints' Wake offers players special items and Halloween-flavored content through November 1. It's available to Leve 15 players who complete a prerequisite quest.
