9 Things Do Do First in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided lets you explore a large section of Prague, the game’s first hub section - and it can be a lot to take in. If you want to make the most of your first few hours in the game, check below for some Things To Do First.

Adam Jensen’s apartment isn’t only a cool pad - it hides a lot of secrets. Just next to his bed is an interactive floorboard that reveals a stash that includes a story item, eBook, and Square Enix Triangle Code. He also has another eBook in the dining room table, and on the kitchen table. You can also find a personal laptop on the kitchen table that includes Smart Home controls - like opening up a secret wall panel full of ammo that you can use as personal storage. Just behind the laptop is a painting that hides a safe containing a valuable Multi-tool.

Just a few floors down from your apartment is a man named Tars, who sells guns, ammo, and even Praxis Kits out of his home. Make sure to sell anything you got in Dubai that you don’t need anymore - and if you want to sell him his own goods, you can either break down the wall in the bathroom or sneak out onto the window sills with the remote hacking augmentation to slide into his back room where there are piles of combat rifles. Just don’t get caught.

Since you only get to choose one of four weapons at the start, and most enemies only use combat rifles or pistols - you can find some other weapons without having to buy them - if you know where to look.

Heading to the large fountain that gives the fountain district its name, look to the left to spot a police van near an archway. It has a grenade launcher in the trunk - but the trunk has a car alarm. Make sure you hide out of sight before looting the Grenade Launcher, and leave the area to avoid suspicion.

EditTranquilizer Rifle and Battle Rifle

To the left of Koller’s shop - The Time Machine - is an abandoned building down the street. The back wall is weak and destructible, and hides a maintenance shaft leading down to a stash with a Tranquilizer Rifle and Battle Rifle.

EditSniper Rifle and Stun Gun

When you arrive at [[Task Force 29], take a left to find the armory, where a Sniper Rifle and Stun Gun are locked away behind a level 5 gate. You can use a multi-tool (like the one in Jensen’s apartment) to unlock it without consequence - you work here, after all!

If you really want that Stun Gun but don’t want to waste the tool, leave TF29 and head right down the street to the apartments at 33 Hlavni street, and look for a large van out front - inside the trunk is a Stun Gun for free.

Once you’ve met Koller and gotten a tune up, check around his place near the elevator to find a painting you can move aside to reveal a duct. This leads to a gas-filled chamber you can brave (either get the rebreather augmentation or dash in and turn off the valve) and includes a level 3 locked safe that hides a Praxis Kit and Square Enix Triangle Code.

Once in Task Force 29’s HQ, note the infirmary on the second floor. It has a back storage unit with a locked safe - but getting in can be a problem. You can hack the door, or exit the room and look along the wall for an alcove you can jump up and climb into the storage through the panel along the ceiling. Inside, either hack the level 2 safe or find the nearby Pocket Secretary with the code, and check the safe for several bottles of expensive Neuropozyne - which can also be given to certain people in exchange for information.

Everyone could use some help in Prague, and Side Missions are hiding everywhere if you know where to look. Side missions are important because they can provide lots of experience, items, and change the outcome of other missions later in the game. It’s very important to note that most missions found in Prague during the day can only be undertaken and completed before leaving - when you come back later, those people may not need your help anymore - or it might just be too late.
