Thor: Ragnarok Includes Scenes in New York City

Headed to the Big Apple.

Several new images from the set of Thor: Ragnarok have emerged, confirming some of the film will take place in New York City and may even feature an appearance by another major Marvel Cinematic Universe character.

While the film is being shot in Brisbane, Australia, Thor star Chris Hemsworth posted the following photo on Twitter (via Heroic Hollywood), showcasing himself and Loki actor Tom Hiddleston seated on a transformed New York set.

Possible spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok follow.

In addition, an Australian writer and director by the name of Daley Pearson revealed a handful of new photos on Twitter, one of them containing a tease that hints at Ragnarok's connection to another upcoming MCU movie, Doctor Strange.

The photo shows Hemsworth holding a piece of paper, and on it is written "177A Bleecker Street," which comic book fans will recognize as the address of Doctor Stephen Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum in Greenwich Village, New York.

Whether or not Benedict Cumberbatch will indeed be making an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok and join the film's all-star cast remains to be seen, but this tease sure speaks to the likelihood of the surgeon-turned-sorcerer returning to the big screen after making his grand debut in Marvel's standalone Doctor Strange this November. (Notably, the character was previously referenced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, before casting of Doctor Strange had been announced, so the photo suggests at least some reference will be made to the character in the film.)

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017. In addition to Hiddleston and Hemsworth, the film stars Idris Elba as Heimdall, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge and Hulk star Mark Ruffalo, who wrapped filming last month.
