Supergirl and Wonder Woman Have Finally Met

When worlds collide: First look at Lynda Carter as the show's President.

Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has revealed the first on-set photo of herself with former Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter.

Posted on her official Instagram page, the photo shows Benoist in costume embracing Carter, who will play the President of the United States in the show's second season.

Carter played Wonder Woman/Diana Prince from 1975-1979 in the TV series based on the DC Comics character. According to the casting announcement made earlier this year, Carter will make her debut in the third episode of Supergirl's sophomore season.

Executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti originally wanted to bring Carter on board for Season 1. However, their initial plan fell through due to a scheduling conflict.

In addition to Carter's character, Season 2 has added Miss Martian and Mon-El, as well as Clark Kent/Superman, who will be played by Teen Wolf's Tyler Hoechlin. The upcoming season will also contain a two-part musical crossover with The Flash, which may be helmed by The Avengers director Joss Whedon.

Supergirl returns Monday, October 10 at 8pm on The CW.
