PlayStation 4 Slim Reportedly Leaked

More than just PS4 Neo on the way?

UPDATE: Eurogamer has all but confirmed that the PS4 Slim advertised on Gumtree is indeed real.

A writer for the site has now visited the home of a Gumtree user that bought the much-debated new console, and recorded video of not only the unit, but its boot process:

Eurogamer also claims that its sources say the Slim will be released shortly after Sony's September 7 event (also rumored to introduce the PS4 Neo upgrade), which tallies with finished units being available now.

Original story follows:

Sony may be revealing more than just PS4 Neo during its PlayStation event in September, as an online auction currently has a redesigned, slimmer model of the console listed for sale.

The seller has several images of the boxed console included in the listing, and provided Polygon with unboxed photos of the hardware, which features a thinner design and rounded edges.

IGN has reached out to the seller for additional details and will update this story in the event we receive a response.

Sony is holding a PlayStation-focused event in New York on September 7. While the company is remaining tight-lipped on what will be shown, the event is rumored to serve as a "technical showcase" for PS4 Neo—a more powerful model of the console—which Sony exec Andrew House confirmed is indeed in on the way and will "sit alongside and complement the standard PS4."

Meanwhile, Sony has yet to announce a redesigned, slimmer model of the PlayStation 4, so take this leak with a grain of salt while we await official word from the company.
