The Pokemon Trading Card Game Shining Legends expansion set will be released on October 6 only in special collections, much like last year's Generations set.
The Shining Legends expansion features more than 75 new cards to collect, including special Shining Pokemon reminiscent of the ultra-rare Shining Charizard from the Neo Destiny set. Also making an appearance in the Shining Legends expansion is a powerful Mewtwo-GX, along with other legendary GX Pokemon like Entei-GX.
The first special collection officially revealed is the Shining Legends Elite Trainer Box, which includes 10 Shining Legends booster packs, a foil Shining Ho-Oh promo card, 65 Ho-Oh card sleeves, and more. You can see everything included in the gallery below.
The Shining Legends Elite Trainer Box can be preordered on Pokemoncenter.com for $49.99, and can be found at other retailers as well. Two Shining Legends Pin Collection boxes, featuring promo cards and pins, will also be released in early October. The first two boxes put Pikachu and Mewtwo front and center, and will retail for $15.99 each.
Each booster pack from the Shining Legends set will include 11 cards and two guaranteed foil cards. The booster packs feature popular Legendary Pokemon in their Shiny alternative colors, including Mew, Rayquaza, and Genesect, so we can expect these to make appearances as special Shining Pokemon in the set.
