Rock Band creator Harmonix announced its bringing an all-new collection of musical mini-games to Nintendo Switch.
Super Beat Sports is a sports game "with a musical twist," according to the developer. The game is based on the Apple TV game Beat Sports and includes console-exclusive "content and features."
Super Beat Sports features Joycon support to " swing, volley and hit balls to the beat" in a new Switch mini-game. Other additions include "full multiplayer support for each mini-game," a new user interface, as well as "bonus songs, levels, bats and costumes" coming to Switch.
It also includes HD Rumble support and 60 fps in both TV and handheld modes.
The game is coming to eShop in the third quarter of 2017, but no firm release date has yet been given.
The upgraded Super Beat Sports joins Harmonix's collection of music-inspired games. Rock Band, Harmonix's biggest franchise, owes a lot to the PS1 classic PaRappa the Rapper. The tradition survives with Super Beat Sports.
