Atlus Potentially Teasing Catherine Sequel

Trisha back to host more of the Golden Playhouse?

If a few hints from Atlus are any indication, a sequel Catherine might be on the horizon.

During today's "Golden Recruitment Special Program," which Atlus held to recruit talent for its new development team Studio Zero, several nods to the narrative-driven puzzle adventure game appeared.

As reported by Persona Central, the stream was Golden Playhouse-themed and featured music from Catherine. On top of that, appearances by Trisha, the host from Catherine, bookended the livestream.

At the conclusion of the stream, Trisha asks Atlus when she'll get another turn in the spotlight, and subsequently responds with excitement about "the next job," which could very well be a tease that news of Catherine 2 is coming.

That said, Atlus has yet to officially announce a sequel to Catherine, so it's possible these hints are nothing more than fun nods to the 2011 puzzle game.

What we do know, however, is that Persona director Katsura Hashino's newly formed development team—the aforementioned Studio Zero—is at work on a new fantasy RPG codenamed Project Re Fantasy.
