Minecraft Is Coming to Apple TV

Golden apple.

During its live event today, Apple announced Minecraft is joining the list of apps available for Apple TV.

Apple CEO Tim Cook made the announcement almost in passing, mentioning only that it's coming to the device and will allow you to build worlds directly on your Apple TV.

No other details were given, so it's not known yet if it's the Minecraft Pocket version adapted for the device, or some other version of Minecraft.

Most of Apple's event was spent showing off the features of its new Touch Bar enabled MacBook Pro line up. The Touch Bar replaces the function keys on certain models of the new MacBook Pro.

Minecraft is already on almost any device that can output graphics, which is a huge part of its continued success. The game consistently shows up on the NPD Group's monthly reports of sales figures for the gaming industry in the United States, in spite of NPD not counting digital sales for Minecraft.
