Uniqlo Partners With Nintendo for T-Shirt Design Competition

You won't retain copyright, but you will meet Miyamoto.

Nintendo has partnered with clothing company Uniqlo to launch a T-shirt competition.

The competition sees users designing a Nintendo-themed T-shirt for Uniqlo. The grand prize is $10,000 plus an invitation to an awards ceremony where Shigeru Miyamoto will be in attendance. The main winner also receives “a new concept game console NX (DEVELOPMENT CODENAME) from Nintendo specially autographed by Shigeru Miyamoto,” and a "special commemorative prize" according to the Uniqlo FAQ.

The second place prize includes $3,000, a signed NX and an invitation to the ceremony, while runners up will net $500. Winning T-shirt designs will then be sold by Uniqlo from Spring 2017.

The awards ceremony is due to take place in Spring 2017 coinciding nicely with the NX launch, due in March. You can read all the small print over on the Uniqlo website.

Caught up on the latest NX rumour? According to recent video game trademarks the NX may use cartridges instead of discs.
