FLCL: Original Character Designer Returning for Sequel

Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, the original character designer behind FLCL, as well as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Wolf Children, is returning for the FLCL sequel series, Production I.G announced during a panel at Anime Expo.

In addition, studio vice president Maki Terashima-Furuta revealed (via Anime News Network) that The Pillows, the Japanese rock band behind the music for the original FLCL, will return to compose the music for the sequel as well.

During the panel it was also announced that Katsuyuki Motohiro, the chief director behind the Psycho-Pass anime series, is on board to supervise the sequel project.

Earlier this year, Adult Swim announced a partnership with Production I.G. to co-produce twelve new episodes of FLCL that will be split into two seasons and serve as a direct continuation of the original 2000 series.
