New Etrian Mystery Dungeon, SMT Games Coming to 3DS


Plus a new glimpse at SMT for Switch.

During Atlus' "New Title Announcement Special Spring 2017" livestream, the company unveiled two new games for 3DS and shared an updated teaser for Shin Megami Tensei for Nintendo Switch.

As reported by Gematsu, Atlus announced Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey for 3DS, which will release in Japan this fall. The title is an enhanced version of the 2009 DS game Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, and features a new character named Alex and a "new ending route," as well as "various elements brushed up for 3DS." During the event, Atlus also announced Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 for 3DS, which, as reported by Gematsu, will release in Japan on August 31. The Spike Chunsoft-developed sequel will features classes from the first game, as well as several new ones like Pirate, Monk, Farmer and Alchemist. Additionally, Atlus showed an updated teaser for the recently announced Shin Megami Tensei game for Nintendo Switch. While the trailer is virtually identical to the one shown back in January, it contains a few extra seconds of brand-new footage, a screenshot of which you can find below.

Details on the upcoming Switch game remain few and far between. According to Atlus USA, there's no word yet on if the game will be localized for the west, but "a formal announcement will be made later for this title if a localization gets confirmed."
