The Justice League Assembled to Present New Footage

Zack Snyder and (most of) his star team.

Director Zack Snyder assembled his cast at CinemaCon Wednesday to present some new footage from his next DC movie, Justice League.

Snyder was joined onstage by Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), and Ezra Miller (Flash). Gal Gadot, who is overseas recuperating from her recent childbirth, sent a pre-recorded greeting to the National Association of Theatre Owners' annual convention.

There wasn't a whole lot of new footage shown so much as an extended trailer with a couple of extra moments and lines of dialogue.

Like the trailer that debuted last weekend, the Justice League CinemaCon footage opened with Bruce Wayne seeking out Aquaman in that remote, snowy village. This time, though, there was dialogue playing over it, an exchange between Jeremy Irons' Alfred and Bruce. Alfred comments on Bruce's desperate quest to find the metahumans he learned about in BvS, to which Bruce replies that he spent so much time being divisive that now he needs to unite people.

The footage segued to a scene set in a Wayne hangar where Bruce is working on repairs to the Flying Fox, an old, massive military carrier plane that will later serve as the League's mobile command center. Diana Prince arrives, with Bruce commenting on how deftly she bypassed his security. They then have an exchange glimpsed in the new trailer where he says how he believes there's an imminent threat to the world and she says that it's already here.

This extended preview offered a couple of new shots of Aquaman, but there were two moments with Flash that stood out more.

The first bit was a slow-motion shot of Wonder Woman straining to reach her sword as she plummets from a great height. It's in slow-mo because Flash has sped into frame, running alongside the wall. He pokes the tip of her sword with his finger so it edges closer for her to catch it.

The second moment was a humorous bit where Flash's alter ego, Barry Allen, geeks out over seeing the Bat-Signal in the sky as Bruce and Diana, all of them dressed in street clothes, acknowledge it.

Overall, this additional Justice League footage didn't do much to change your opinion of the new trailer one way or another.
