Beyonce Reportedly Top Choice to Play Nala in Lion King

But nothing is set in stone just yet.

Disney's live-action remake of The Lion King may have found its Nala in Beyonce Knowles.

According to Variety, the Grammy-winning artist, who is currently pregnant with twins, is the top choice of director Jon Favreau. While Beyonce has not yet signed on for the voice-acting role, Favreau and the studio are reportedly willing to do anything they can in order to work around her schedule.

In addition her voice-acting role in Fox's 2013 animated movie Epic, Beyonce's film credits include in the 2006 musical Dreamgirls, the 2009 thriller Obsessed and the 2002 action comedy Austin Powers in Goldmember.

If she does accept the voice role for The Lion King, Beyonce will join Donald Glover and James Earl Jones, who will voice Simba and Mufasa, respectively.

The Lion King, a screenplay for which is being penned by Pirates writer Jeff Nathanson, won't be the first live-action adaptation Favreau helms for Disney. The filmmaker directed last year's critically acclaimed The Jungle Book and is already on board to helm the sequel.
