The second season of My Hero Academia will premiere in both Japanese and English on April 1, 2017.
Funimation has acquired the rights to Season 2 and will air the first six episodes of both the English SimulDub and the English-subtitled simulcast on FunimationNow the very same day they broadcast in Japan. The premiere will stream simultaneously in the United States, Canada, Japan, Ireland and the UK.
In anticipation for the Season 2 debut, a recap special of the first season will air in Japan on March 25. Additionally, My Hero Academia: Season 1 will be available for purchase on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD staring April 18.
Season 2 continues the story of Izuku Midoriya, as the budding young hero must now face off against his classmates at the U.A. Sports Festival. The first season of My Hero Academia earned a place on our list of the 5 best anime from last spring and was also one of the nominees for IGN's Best Anime Series of 2016.
