Night in the Woods Release Date Announced

Spend a night in the woods next year.

Night in the Woods will release on PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, and Linux on January 10, 2017, developer Infinite Fall announced today.

Previously set for release sometime this year, the official Twitter account for the game explained that the developer "needed a few extra weeks" to work on the game.

The Kickstarter-funded adventure game was originally announced in 2013, while its jump to PS4 was revealed in 2014 — IGN previewed the game later that year and checked back in on the game at this year's E3.

Night in the Woods puts players in the role of 20-year-old Mae Borowski, who has left college and returned to her home in Possum Springs. And though plenty about the familiar town is the same for Mae, things have changed during her time away, and something is out in the town's woods.
