Big-Name Sites Suffer Outages Following DDoS Attacks

It's not just you.

If you had trouble this morning accessing some of your favorite websites, it's not just you. A dedicated denial of service attack has taken out many of the internet's most popular sites.

Among the affected websites are Amazon, Netflix, Twitter, and Reddit. Services such as Sony's PlayStation Network are also under attack.

Internet infrastructure company DynDNS reports on its company Twitter account it's currently dealing with the attacks, and updates can be seen on its status page. However, Dyn's page is also down.

CNN reports the attacks began this morning and mainly affected the east coast of the United States. As of yet, no responsibility has been claimed for the attacks, but an official told CNN the US government "looking at all possible scenarios including possible cyber activity."

We will update this story as more news becomes available.
