The female-driven 21 Jump Street spinoff has found its writer, and possibly director, in 22 Jump Street scribe Rodney Rothman.
According to Deadline, Rothman recently turned in the latest draft of his script and is being eyed to direct the film that was first reported on in 2015. 21 and 22 Jump Street producer Neal Moritz will reportedly return for the spinoff.
The report also states the Jump Street/Men in Black crossover, MIB23, is still in development, despite Jump Street star Jonah Hill suggesting the crossover probably isn't going to happen back in August. "They’re trying to make all the deals," said Hill, "but it’s kind of impossible with all the Men in Black stuff."
Prior to Hill's comments, the project was said to be moving forward with The Muppets' James Bobin at the helm.
Stay tuned to IGN for the latest on both Jump Street spinoffs.
