Carrie Fisher Reportedly Finished Filming Star Wars: Ep 8 Scenes

She will be missed terribly.

We'll have one last chance to fall in love again with Carrie Fisher's portrayal of Leia Organa, as her scenes for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VIII finished filming in July.

According to Variety, the film is now in post-production, with Fisher's work on the film completed. How this will affect the story of the ninth Star Wars episode remains to be seen, as Fisher was also on board to reprise her role as Leia.

The actress died this morning following a heart attack on December 23. A family spokesperson confirmed the news. She was 60 years old.

Apart from her role as princess-turned-general Leia Organa, Fisher also worked as a writer and script doctor, polishing scripts for such films as Hook, Sister Act, and even the Star Wars prequels.

Fisher suffered from substance abuse and mental health issues, but was vocal about her struggles and served as an advocate for others suffering from their own mental health struggles.

Her therapy dog, a French bulldog named Gary, was always at her side, from interviews to red carpet appearances.
