10 Important Things Pokemon Sun/Moon Doesn't Tell You

If you talk to every NPC and read every sign in Pokemon Sun and Moon, you’ll get a lot of the information and hints you need to become a successful trainer. But there are some things that Pokemon Sun and Moon don’t really help you with.

Some Pokemon are more common during a certain type of day, and some are even exclusive to the day or the night. If you’re having trouble catching a Pokemon you want, try looking at a different time of day!

If you’ve encountered any Pokemon in battle, you can look up its natural habitat by selecting its entry in the Pokedex — even if you haven’t caught it. The Dex will show you everywhere you can catch that Pokemon, which is great if you’re on the hunt for a hard-to-find Pokemon!

Pokemon can summon an ally Pokemon to help them in battle, which means you have to fight two at once. You can’t use a Poke Ball until there’s only one Pokemon on the field, however.

The kind of Poke Ball you use really matters. If you want to catch stronger Pokemon, make sure you have Great Balls and Ultra Balls on hand if you struggle catching it with a Poke Ball — even at low health

You can’t search through trash cans. (For those who haven’t played a Pokemon game since the early 2000s, that might be a little disappointing. Don’t bother looking for stuff in people’s trash cans.)

Totem Pokemon will continue to summon allies after you defeat the first one. Target the Totem Pokemon and defeat it first, then knock out the ally.

There are hidden items you can pick up in addition to the ones that look like Poke Balls. Until you get access to Stoutland Search in Poke Ride, you’ll have no way to tell where they are besides guessing. They’re usually in clearings near tall grass or by rocks if you want to use some guesswork early on. When you gain access to Stoutland in Poke Ride later on, you can press B while riding it to sniff for these hidden items.

Some Pokemon, like Pichu, evolve from “friendship,” a hidden stat that can be hard to gauge. You won’t meet anyone who can evaluate friendship until later in the game, so just be sure to use that Pokemon in battle and make sure it doesn’t faint.

You can rest on other people’s beds. It doesn’t do anything, but you can do it.

If you play the demo, you are able to tranfer not only Ash Greninja but the items you pick up from the demo to the main game, to do so open the demo with the full game either downloaded or inserted and go to the pokemon center, talk to the professor and he will give you the option to transfer!
