Borderlands Developer Gearbox Reveals New Game

Project 1v1 is a shooter.

Gearbox Software has revealed a new game codenamed Project 1v1.

It's a shooter that Gearbox says "combines the action of fast-paced 1v1 first-person combat with the metagame strategy of a collectible card game."

Project 1v1 will see a closed technical test in the coming months. The early look at the game will offer three modes: ranked, challenge and arena. Signups are available at Project1v1.com.

Now Gearbox is busy with other games too, most notably Borderlands 3. Earlier this year at GDC, the studio showed off a Borderlands 3 early tech demo with Unreal Engine 4.

On top of that, Gearbox hired a university class to create an unannounced VR game. Plus, there's also Gearbox Studio Quebec, was was formed in late 2015.
