Atlus has announced that Persona 5 is getting a six-LP vinyl soundtrack, and preorders open today on iam8bit.
The six-LP Deluxe Edition of the soundtrack will be a limited pressing of only 1,000 units and will feature 110 songs from Persona 5's soundtrack and will be available for $175.
Separately, iam8bit also revealed a four-LP "Essential Edition," featuring a "track listing curated by Atlus Sound Team, including P5’s most popular music," according to the product listing. That version will retail for $100.
Artwork for both versions is under wraps for now, but iam8bit says it's "the result of an intimate collaboration between iam8bit, Atlus, SEGA and a to be announced, top secret artist" and will be revealed at a later date.
Both the Deluxe Edition and Essential Edition are expected to ship "in time for the holidays" in the fourth quarter of this year. Leading up to the release, iam8bit will also collaborate with Atlus and SEGA to show off behind-the-scenes video, photos, and interviews "showcasing every detail involved in making a record," including mastering, test presses, packaging, and more. Production updates are expected to be released once a month.
Preorders for the Persona 5 soundtrack will open today on iam8bit's official site.
Persona 5's music is just one of the features we praised in our Persona 5 review, noting that the "dynamic acid jazz-inspired soundtrack also helps to highlight everything from quiet moments to bombastic boss battles, helping to tie together an overall experience that feels truly special."
