Sony's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe reboot has reportedly lost its director.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Terminator Salvation and Charlie's Angels director McG will no longer helm He-Man. It's not known why McG departed the project. David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel) is currently penning the script for the film, which is now slated to release on December 18, 2019.
There's no news regarding casting, but in an interview with IGN last year McG confirmed that Twilight star Kellan Lutz had an “amazing meeting” with him and Lutz would be "considered very, very closely." for the lead role. However, with McG's departure there's no word yet if Lutz is still one of Sony's top choices to play He-Man.
