Actress Emma Watson is having a big year. Hot on the heels of Disney's massively successful Beauty and the Beast remake, Watson's next starring role comes in The Circle. This time she plays a wide-eyed new recruit at a social media empire who discovers that her boss (Tom Hanks) may be hiding a few dark secrets.
Watson's success is all the more notable considering how rarely child stars are able to keep their careers going into adulthood. But Watson has managed to escape the shadow of Hermione Granger and the Harry Potter franchise. While Watson has tended to focus more on smaller indie projects and dramatic roles, the fact that Beauty and the Beast just became the first movie of 2017 to cross the $1 billion mark shows that she hasn't lost that Harry Potter box office appeal.
