Bryan Singer, who is directing the pilot for FOX's potential series based on the X-Men franchise, has given us a glimpse at the production, namely by sharing a photo on Instagram of Stan Lee's cameo.
As you almost assuredly know, Lee likes to pop up in Marvel-based movies and TV series, so it's not a shock that he is in FOX's TV spinoff of X-Men, which is possibly called Gifted.
We don't know many details on the series yet -- though you can read up on the cast in the slideshow below -- and even Singer's Instagram of Lee doesn't give away much. He's carrying a bag, but what's in the bag? The possibilities are endless!
This isn't the first time Singer has filmed a Lee cameo, as Lee previously appeared in Singer's first X-Men movie in 2000 and in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. On the X-Men side, Lee also cameoed in X-Men: The Last Stand and Deadpool, though Singer didn't direct those two films.
This new pilot marks the second direct partnership between Fox and Marvel on TV, following Legion, which airs on FX. FOX's X-Men pilot is written by Matt Nix, creator of Burn Notice, and it is said that it will be connected to the X-Men movies.
We'll find out in the next couple of weeks whether FOX is ordering a full series for the project - though it's believed to be a very safe bet they will.
Chris Morgan is the author of The Comic Galaxy of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and the new novel The Ash Heap of History. Wisely or not, he's also on Twitter.
