The Defenders: Every Character So Far

Netflix's superhero universe is really coming together.

Update (11/7/16): Elodie Yung has joined the cast of The Defenders as a series regular, reprising her role as Elektra from Daredevil: Season 2 (news via EW), and has been added to the slideshow.

Netflix's upcoming series The Defenders is shaping up to be quite the epic superhero team-up. Not only will this show unite the stars of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron First, it'll also feature a wide cast of familiar faces pulled from all four shows. If you thought The Avengers had a huge cast, you haven't seen anything yet.

We've put together a handy slideshow featuring every character who's been confirmed to appear in The Defenders so far. Check it out below:

For those who haven't been eagerly following every tidbit of news surrounding this latest and most ambitious Marvel project from Netflix, The Defenders is an ensemble series that features Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) forming their own superhero team. They'll be going up against a mystery villain played by Sigourney Weaver, and the show will feature a variety of heroes and villains introduced in the various solo Netflix shows.

We're expecting more characters to be confirmed as we get closer to the show's release. For example, it's speculated that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the Punisher (in addition to featuring in his own solo series next year), and it's always possible that some familiar faces from the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe will stop by.

The Defenders will premiere on Netflix at some point in 2017. Until then, you can check out the teaser trailer from SDCC and our theories as to which Marvel character Weaver might be playing.
