Zelda Wii U E3 Demos Could Take 90 Minutes to Complete

Saddle up Epona.

Press are being told to set aside up to an hour and a half to complete the E3 hands-on of The Legend of Zelda on Wii U.

The new open-world Zelda game (which will also be released on the upcoming Nintendo NX console) will be Nintendo's only game on the E3 showfloor, and Finder reports that it will be represented by two "extended" demos.

Nintendo Everything, seeking confirmation of the story, was told that the two demos will let players “step into the wilds of Hyrule and explore some of the grasslands, forests and mountains that they’ve been given mere glimpses of to date.”

It's not just press who will be playing - 500 fans in New York will be able to play before E3, although it's not clear if the same demos will be on show at that event.

If you can't attend either event, Nintendo will be running a day-long stream of Nintendo Treehouse: Live this year, where footage and developer interviews are sure to appear.

After being delayed again, The Legend of Zelda is due for release in 2017, although it's not yet clear exactly when.

Want to know why we're excited for the game? Here's our view on why it's one of the 25 most-anticipated games at E3.

Joe Skrebels is IGN's UK News Editor, and if this is a proper open world game, he'd better get to steal a Goron's car and watch it cry or something. Chastise him on Twitter.
