The infamous Decepticon leader is making a return, as Transformers: The Last Knight director Michael Bay has announced that "Megatron is back" for the series' fifth installment.
Bay revealed Megatron's return to the silver screen in a post on Instagram, while also confirming that production officially begins this week. The official Transformers Twitter account also teased the villain's appearance with a brief video, which you can check out below.
Megatron was (seemingly) killed by Optimus Prime in the franchise's third entry, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theaters on June 23, 2017 and stars Mark Wahlberg, who's reprising his role as Cade Yeager from Age of Extinction. In addition to Wahlberg, Isabela Moner stars as the film's female lead.
