Overwatch only just came out, but based on reception, sales, and the undeniable amount of hype surrounding it, it's already in the running to be one of the most popular team-based shooters ever. But its popularity isn't owed just to its "incredible achievement[s] in multiplayer game design," as our Overwatch review in progress puts it — the depth and charm of its wide cast of playable characters plays a big role too.
