Dan Aykroyd: New Ghostbusters Has 'More Laughs and More Scares' Than Originals

Bustin' made him feel good.

Original Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd has said that the new Ghostbusters film "has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films".

Writing on his Facebook page, the writer/star of the original two films praised "brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male" after watching a test screening. He even addressed the hilarious elephant in the room, saying that this was despite Bill Murray appearing in the originals.

The new Ghostbusters, which features an all-female lead cast, has attracted criticism from some of the darker corners of the Internet.

If Aykroyd is to be believed, we have a treat in store: "As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I'm paying to see [the film] and bringing all my friends!"

Based on our visit to the Ghostbusters set, we're inclined to agree.
