Brace yourselves: E3 2016 is nearly upon us. From June 12-16, the entire gaming industry will converge on Los Angeles to showcase the biggest games that we’ll be playing for 2016 and beyond. We’ve been updating our Games of E3 List whenever news drops, but now we’re going to go even deeper. Every day leading up to the show, we’re going to highlight one of the biggest games that we hope to see more of at E3. Up today: Dishonored 2.
We last saw Dishonored 2 just a week ago on our visit to Arkane Studios. While no footage was revealed to the public, we did get a look at some of Corvo and Emily's special abilities, as well as the city of Karnaca — a brighter, Southern European-inspired place that lends much more verticality in terms of level design than Dunwall from the first Dishonored.
Dishonored 2 has a ton of awesome new abilities and cool twists on familiar ones, all thanks to a highly refined and expanded upgrade tree. There are a lot more options available to you in terms of the way you tailor your abilities and approach certain situations. The first Dishonored already excelled at this kind of creative freedom, so to see the possibilities open up even wider in Dishonored 2 is very exciting. It'll also be cool to see the way Karnaca's more vertical-centric level design affects the playstyles borne out of these new skills.
Also, two playable characters is always a plus! We can't wait to see more of Emily and the unique abilities she brings to the table.
100%. Earlier this month, Bethesda announced that the first ever public gameplay demo for Dishonored 2 will be held during its E3 conference on June 12th.
